Chromo

Chromo

Chromos from EF (Ernst Freihoff) take back the images of chromoes of the beginning of the century in the 60s.

The production in this period came from various companies, the main was in Berlin.

These images were used to decorate cakes, to make postcards, to decorate folding screens, chairs, boxes. Many layers of varnish were used to give the impression of hand-paintings. Today these old images are exclusively produced by EF, in the tradition (chromolithography), a big part of the production is always manual

Chromoes from EF exist under 3 forms

- Brightness - lively colors
- Mica - covered by place of small grains of mica (cannot be used to decorate cake)
- In bag - in an a little more thick paper the images are separated and packaged in bag

For Le Suh chromoes
